Default Low Oil light

I am wondering if I have a possible sensor problem. My low oil light comes on intermittently. When I park downhill it will normally light up and stay on until I park somewhere and start it again. I never know when it is going to happen but the oil level is fine. Is there a sensor I should replace somewhere that might have gone bad?

The sensor is probly picking up low oil cause your on an incline. [&:] How much of an incline is it? Im sure the oil sensor is fine if it doesn`t light up if your parked on a level surface.

you didn't happen to check the oil while you were on an incline right?

I have a 96.

Mine does that too.

Thats a feature! And It makes up for the fake oil-pressure gague.

When parking on an incline, you won't have that problem if you keep the car filled to the max on the dipstick.

Well, as long as you don't live on lombard street in san fran...

I wait until the light just stays on after the car has been parked fairly level.

Its always on MIN when I check it.

Then I know its time to add oil. And it always takes 1 QT.

That is BMW level refinement
