Default 1999 to 2002, any real differences in the GT?

Are there any differences worth noting in this 3 year span on the Mustang GT? I'm looking for a manual GT convertible and my max is $15k unless I come across a great deal on a later model.
From what I can find online, it looks like the engine is the exact same 260hp unit, but you guys may know somethings I haven't heard. I will be making moddest modifications to the engine like exhaust, headers and a mild cam. Thank you for any info you can provide.

P.S. I'm currently in a 1990 4 cyl HB and have finally achieved the income to afford a newer mustang. Thanks again

99-early 01 are Windsor blocks with inferior trannies (T5 or T45, I can't remember), mid 01-04 are Romeo blocks and TR3650 trannies.

Windsor is supposed to be a stronger block. Also, the Windsor blocks came with 8 bolt cranks.

No not really. If anything i've heard the 99,00's make more on the dyno due to the transmission... but yes the syncros are little weaker than in the 3650.
