wow the vortechs are cheap compared to other s/c kits. I think the roush and saleens are like 8 grand, and the KB is like 4 grand...

I haven't heard any real reliability complaints regarding the vortechs. My old boss had a V6 F 150 with a vortech blower on it. For a truck, it screamed

I have the procharger with the intercooler. Just waiting 2 get a chance to take it to a dyno to get #'s and tuned.
It's quit. If u want the loud whistleing sound this is not 4 u. Not very noticible.

If you have a choice between a KB Blowizalla, or a Pro-charger..... Go with the KB all the way no questions asked. You will have instant boost from your low RPM's all the way to redline.
Agreed. The KB will cost more, too (2.2L kit will total you about $8000 when all is said and done) but you'll have a street MONSTER.

A Vortech will cost you about $4000, but you won't have the possibility for the same amount of boost.

$8000 is a little steep, even for the 2.2L. The kit comes with everything but injectors, a belt, tune, and the mass air. The kit is $5400, and I can guarantee you won't have $2600 in the 4 things that don't come with it. You might have $6500 total. Also, twinscrew and centrifiguals are worlds apart...all depends in what ya want I guess.

NO, you have boost from 1500 RPM to 5000 RPM and then it falls off. Why do people think this is SOOO important?? Seriously.

Why do you care? When was the last time you started a race at 1500 RPM?? Do you start your 20 MPH roll races in 4th???

I knew you should change the bottom end of your engine to forged parts when putting on a s/c, but what about the rear end? What exactly do you need to strengthen? Would upping the gear help any?
