LS1 Owner Buying 99-02 GT.....Help Me Out
I have a 2001 Ws6, and I'm not selling it but......
I am selling my daily driver Supercharged GTP and buying a Mustang.
Never thought I'd be saying these words, but I'm going to try out a Ford.
I'm not trying beat Ls1's with the Mustang GT, all that I want is a dependable daily driver sports car.
I'm only planning on doing the following mods.....
Predator or Sct tuner, Catted X-Pipe, and an intake.
What do you guys recommend especially for someone that know nothing about FOrds and everything about GM's.
Any information is greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!

yeah a tuner will not get you what you want to see actually neither will any of those mods even put together. if its your dd then i just recommend do exhaust and calling it a day. get an off road x and a nice quality cat-back. hell get some longtubes too. this way you'll see some power from the full exhaust set-up and have a nice sound while cruising around. as you prolly know unless you go FI modding a GT is going to be expensive and not nearly worth it if you keep it n/a. gears will obviously be best bang for the buck and i recommend nothing less than 4.10s for GT stangs.

Yea I agree, a tuner won't do too much, especially for a DD.
Like the others suggested, I would do a full exhaust for a nice sound and intake and call it a day. I would do a few exterior mods to make it look a little better too!
Other than that, if its a DD you will pick up some horses with a full exhaust + intake and it will be a fun car to drive around.
Only other thing I would recommend if you want to pick up another fun feature is gears as well. After that your pretty much set.
However, if you do gears, then the tuner will be worth it.

for a DD not really lookin to race, just do exhaust and gears and intake.

Everyone that said gears lets think... it's his daily driver, meaning car that should get better gas mileage but still be sporty. He already has an LS1 and doesnt need that extra .2-.3. Gears would be the last thing he should buy.

if it' sgonna be strictly a fun DD, I'd say find a catback you like the sound of and call it a day. Sounds like his LS1 is the mod machine so this one should be maintained more than modded. I'm even tempted to say get an automatic for a DD
