how much to have cams installed?
Im thinking about buying a set of cams and i do not have any shops close to me and i was wondering how much it would cost to have a set installed at a ford dealership? I know it would cost but does anyone have a idea? Thanks

well according to shopkey it's a 7.3 hour job. So it's 7-8 hours times whatever the hourly rate is at that shop. That's if the guy can do it on book time, they may charge more

Do cams increase hp or are they just one of those things that can handle more hp?

they change your powerband and increase the horsepower towards the top. They give the valves more time open and open them farther for more fuel to come in, so you have to rev a bit higher but you get more horse.
it's not a simple bolt on. The oil pan has to be dropped, and the front timing covers come off and the timing chains removed. There are special tools required to align the timing spockets for each cam too.
