Default Trunk lid opens only with FORCE =D

I got a trunk lid that opens only using both of my biceps and triceps to an extraodinary extent... is there any way to "loosen" up the car trunk?

If the latch has rust, just do the obvious thing and spray some pb blaster over all the parts.

you could remove the rear wing. might help the problem if you are really weak.

did you buy your car new or did you get it used? if you got it used, did you do a carfax? Maybe a body panel is tweaked. Using that kinda force is ridiculous. I would take it off, brackets and all and take a real good look. but then again, it is a ford.

Adjust your latch, look at it carefully, see if one side is scraped more than the other, move latch in opposite direction. Make sure you don't mess up the latch tension down or you will get water past the seals. Yes, I've hung doors, aligned hoods, trunks, fenders and quarters......;...........ARRRRRRRGH!

i've opened a lot of trunks in my life... and i hate to admit it, but shouldn't the trunk lid open easily =P or are muscle cars built for bodybuilders...? there is nothing wrong with the latch... i can open it half way without using too much force but the 2nd and final half is when I have to struggle a bit... I wish the lid would just open "easily"...
