Default Look what i found while installing! LOOK

so i got a 70mm TB and Plenum bbk for my birthday and as im installing them tonight i come across this "thing" lodged in the side of my air filter.

i dunno how bad this was letting dirt and what not into the engine but it can't be good im ordering a new one tonight.

i bought the car about 1.5yrs ago and it must have been there ever since, don't know what it is or how it got their.

and i've made a band-aid untill i get the replacement

What kind of "bandage" is that.....it better be secure. The last thing you want is that "bandage" getting sucked into your intake.

That sucks, you didn't install it did you?

Hate to break it to you, my GT had an air filter that looked the same and it had been wrecked pretty bad before I bought it, looks daaaaamn familiar....

I tell you I'm looking at mine this weekend, I have the same setup, in the fenderwell in all. The filter sits awful close to the fender flange, under vibration you guys are showing me it could hit. I've got to drive one mile each morning and evening on a pot holed dirt farm road, my setup has been on two months, if it shows ANY signs of hitting, i'ts out of there. I'll install the Hi-flow in the stock air box without the snorkel, case closed. I had trepidation installing it, because once it's in, you can't inspect it without getting under the car. Yeah it's a done deal, I'm changing it, in my case it's too risky. Thanks for the heads up!
