When you sell your car can your child or spouse sign the title over to someone? The title to my car is in my fathers name and was wondering if i or my mother could sign it over since some1 is wanting to purchase my car.


Yes i know this is off-topic and after i get a response you can delete the thread. I cant seem to find anything on google. Any help here guys?

He should sign the title if his name is on it. But yes, your mother can sign it as well. Im sure there will be no questions asked when the buyer goes to transfer it over. They wont know if its his sig or not. Ive seen people do it similar to this way before. You should be fine.

If it's ok with him i would just f o r g e it!

have him sign it but DO NOT LET HIM DATE IT OR PUT A PRICE. By doing this can really help out the buyer.

Yeah the guy i bought mine from helped me out, told the tag agency he sold it to me for a lot less than I paid as a favor. Saved A LOT on taxes, being that I'm the 4th owner, I think enough taxes have been paid on this damn thing.
