Will they work?
A buddy of mine from work is giving me a set of Intrax lowering springs (2 inch lower). He had them installed in his son's 98 Mustang V-6, but his son decided he didn't want the car lowered anymore. Will they work on my 01 Mustang GT and will the drop be to much....Thanks in advance for your input.
Yea you should be fine.
I have a 2' drop in the front and a 1.8 in the back. I have a 2000 GT Vert, and my car is low as hell. But you learn the tricks. Definitely no lower than 2' for a street car, but 2' is fine. I don't have any problems.

2" is a pretty good drop. Most people, including myself, will advise using c/c plates for 2" and more. Also, anytime you lower a car, you will need to get it aligned, because if you don't, the inside edge of the front tires will be eaten away fairly quickly.

Would a drop be recommended in a area where snow has a good chance of coming down? (3 months out of every year)
