i have a 00 gt and i raced a 98 cobra he got me off the start but i ended up getting him by a fender in the end but and it was stock for stock if he woulden't have had a six speed i would of beat him by alot more. his cobra was a coupe so race him you should be able to get him even from a dig.

Did it have a tranny swap??? Because only 6spd cobra's are 03-04.

When I ran mine at the track I messed up bigtime.. I was shifting WAY to late, and had terrible 60' times. My best was my first run, a 14 flat, and it kept going downhill from there.. Every run was progressively slower.. Track was getting worse and worse. they had the junior drags running quite often that day, and did little to no prep at all after the start.. everyones 60' were going down with each run. I would say run him up to a certin speed and stop.. or mark a 1/4 off exactly if you can.. GT's have a much better looking torque curve the the cobra's.. they usualy jump out in front and the cobra has to chase them down on the high end from what I have seen in person and in my car. Dont take it any further then 1/4 mile or he'll just start to catch/leave you. Those extra 40 ponies come in realy handy up top.

Good set of tires, good launch and put it through the floor and you got imo man. I'd atleast talk a little sh*t back and tell him to get his uncle to drive it over and take a ride in it. If it feels the same. Line em up bro! hell even if it doesn't, line em up! It's not like you're racing an 04 cobra ya know?
