Default correct me if im wrong?

ok say if u are familiar with the p51 intake manifold answer this for me..

if u install it, it gives u 10+ hp, and you can reach a 6000 rpm redline.

with it installed you cant use a twin screw s/c, but u could use a centrifrugal like a vortech?

if you cant use if with a s/c why is it good?
would this be a good mod?

You cannot use the P-51 with a twin screw or eaton. The twin screws/eatons mount down in the valley, where the stock intake manifold is. They replace the intake manifold.

You could use a P-51 on a centrifgual, but you might need some sort of custom adapter or seal to hook the intake pipe from the blower to the intake.

However, I beileve the p-51 is built for more than 6000 RPM. Almost everyone I have seen running it is also running a built shortblock, because it likes to see more RPM than the stock bottom end can handle. On top of that, you would need some ported heads and some good cams to see all of the gains the P-51 has to offer, and be able to make power in the higher RPM ranges.

Not on a stock or close to it car. Its alot of money for not much gain on a non built up motor.

Also, I have just not seen this combo on a blower car yet. Dunno why that is, but most of the blower guys go with a ported bullit intake.

Its a different setup, they have a different t/b plate so it won't take a t/b like on your car.

A ported bullit is a ways down the road though. You would need a new shortblock before worring about replacing the stocker with a ported bullit.

You will see some small gains n/a with the upper plenum and t/b. You will see much bigger ones with em if you have a blower installed. However, a CAI and intake tube are a waste of cash with a centrifgual, and if you go with a KB the plenum will have to come off, so you need to decide on the blower setup before you go buying parts you will have to sell.

I have a C&L MAF w/ K&N, and C&L inlet elbow for sale for less than 1/2 what I bought it for because the vortech stuff replaces it.

LOL now Im cracking up. Everyone has brought down the new intake from Proffesional products because it only made power in the higher rpms on a modded car. Alot of folks praised the P-51, but from the sound of it, to get the same gains it is realy on the same boat only 2 times as much in price.

If you can install it you will get much more than 10hp and you redline past 6000rpm. I got around 25hp from it and my redline is 6700rpms with my powering peaking at 6100. My head/cam/intake install netted me a 70rwhp gain. However, if your car is basically stock I'd not jump after the P-51 right away. And yes...like a Vortech. That's all that'll fit really. BTW...I've a stock bottom end.
