I had a 92 GT and I bought an H pipe but the thing was way out of wack.. The guy I had install it had to modify the heck out of it to get it to fight.. I hope technology has gotten better these days and they make them to fit w/o having to modify it.. I plan on ordering mine in the next few days..

Hey dude the last midpipe installer had same problem and I think ppl said sears sells a kit that you have to hammer on to the nut and then break it off. Or you can try hammering on a slightly smaller socket.

yes there is a kit that can take off that nut. Craftsman makes a kit that can remove rounded nuts and bolts. I have one myself, and it cost me about 20 bucks. It's really a worth while investment, and i reccomend anyone who works on cars to get this kit.

I had to pay a shop $70 to be able to take off the nut holding the midpipe to the header--the one facing 15 degrees towards the engine. It was an absolute mission to remove it--not just the angle, but it was frozen stiff. I'm going to look into that Craftsman kit.

Erwin makes the tool you need and so does Sears. I picked mine up at PepBoys and have seen them at Farm & Fleet. Sears carries the Craftsman version obviously. Erwin's is like $20 for the set and works great.

I took my deep well 15mm and stuck a small socket into it so that when I put the "gripper" tool into the socket, it didn't sink to the bottom of the deep well. This allowed the tool to sit at the end of the deep well and allow the exposed end of the stud to slide through the center and into the deep well behind it. A short socket didn't allow the gripper tool to engage the stripped nut.
