I'll have to look when I get home, but I know the codes are online. The other option is a Chilton's or Haynes manual. They're handy to have around in any event. Best $15 you'll spend for maintenance.

For the cats, put MIL eliminators on, if your car has to pass an emissions test make sure the test is of the obd type only, if its the sniffer test then you have to have cats... if its just the obd test then the eliminators should work fine and you should pass... if you don't have to pass emissions then the eliminator will turn the check engine light off.... The code reader I have is called the Autoxray 2000, it will read domestics back to early 80's and 96-up imports, it reads codes and does readiness tests I got mine at o-reillys for 200 you can get it online too at www.autoxray.com for 200 also... It tells you the actual code and the definition of what the code means.

What the hell are you talking about? OBD1 was used on GM cars from 95-down Ford was eec-iv on the older ones. first thing is what are you talking about? the self diagnostic capability of the 99-up cobras? or are u saying you can pull the codes without using a code reader...? All cars '96-up are obd-2. Thats news to me if you can, Also the site where you look up codes is www.troublescodes.net

There is some way to stick a paperclip (or a jumper of some sort) between two wires on the OBD II port and the light will flash giving the code or something. I've heard of it, but it sounded too complicated so I just went and bought a code scanner. Maybe thats what he's talking about. It's not just 99-00 Mustangs, it's all cars that are OBD equipped.
