Default CA H Pipe Question

I live in Cali and intended to remove the cat'd stock H pipe and replace with a non-cat'd H. Then when it comes time to do emissions testing, reinstall the stock H. Here are my questions.

1). Is there a noticeable power gain replacing the stock cat'd H w/off-road H w/stock headers?
2). Is is a pain to do the install/uninstall ?

I searched but I suck at searching.

Thx.

E.

I suggest since you live in such a strict state, you look into getting a catted midpipe... If they ever look under your car and see you have no cats, that is going to be one HUGE fine you are going to have to pay... The is very little, if any, benefit over hi-flo cats compared to an off-road system.
