Default Cooling problem

My low engine coolant lights has come on and is staying on. My temps are all normal and my coolant level is normal. As a precaution I went ahead and changed the thermostat as it only costs like 5 bucks and takes 2 minutes to change out. What else could be causing the light to be on? BTW... The light goes off when I stop at a stoplight and comes on when I start driving.

Could it be the waterpump going bad?

Josh

Gotta be a bad sensor.

mine does the same thing, but i put a little h20 in her, and it will go off...but i don't seem to be losing any anywhere...so i dunno... could be the sensor or may be a pressure problem in the system.

Funny! This just happened to me this evening!!!
I just finished washing/detailing my engine bay, and was out "drying the engine" (weeee!) when I noticed my Coolant Level light.
I just pulled the plug at the back bottom of the tank and dryed it with a paper towel and screwdriver, put it back together, checked the level (was ok), started her up an PRESTO!
I LOVE fixes like this!!!
Good luck.
Troy
BTW, mines a '97 GT
