Installed LM2's... FINALLY ... QUESTION!?!
Well guys,
many of you know I have had stock exhaust for a long time (wanted to see how quick I could get the car without it)
well about 3 weeks ago I put on my O/R H Pipe and just left stock catback on...sounded nice all thru the RPMS, and felt little gain in power.
well yesterday I installed my SLP LM2 Catback.... (very nice setup by the way)
NOW I got the LM2s over the LM1's... b/c I DID NOT WANT ANY POPPING!
and DAMMMMMMN!
these LM2's POP!
Like at idle it sounds great, and going like 5-10mph...
but step on it and it just goes " POP!!!!!!" so loud! or REV IT and it just goes "POP!!!!"
I hate that popping.
HATE IT!
so can you please help me out, did I do something wrong?
what is up?
will this go away after they are on for a while?
is it just b/c it was cold when I was reving it?
Thanks!

RE: Installed LM2's... FINALLY ... QUESTION!?!
Any straight through muffler is going to have a pop/raspier sound to them than a baffled muffler.
You went with the wrong brand of straight through's. If you went with Dynomax or Magnaflows you wouldn't be having this issue.

Good to hear another person hates their SLP's. I cant stand mine. To the point i dont even want to drive the car anymore. I have a off road X, and LM 1's. Sounds stupid. I was going to try LM2's but there goes that thought as well. I was thinking changing out the Cattless X for a Catted H. But i dont know.... i have been through so many diff. cat backs and still dont like the sounds... i think i could have had a S/C for the money i have put into exhaust.

LoL, should have gone LM1. Mine pop VERY little if not any at all,
But what was said is true. Straight style is going to pop a little bit. Mine really ONLY pop on deceleration though, and even then its really not a lot, maybe one big pop ever now and then if I let it into deceleration REAL hard, but otherwise I don't really have any problems.
Stinks though, because when I did mine, I didnt want any popping either.
Plus MOST of it probably has to do with your H-pipe. I have heard from numerous owners that Hpipes pop MUCH more than Xpipes.
