Insurance rates?
Do insurance companies usually charge you the rates you get by how "new" your car is or the size of the engine?
Because I would like to get a 99-04 mustang GT but I thought the insurance would be more then if I got a 90-98 since they are older cars even tho the 90-95's have 5.0s in them. Am I wrong on this?

newer mustang would be a hell of alot more expensive, older mustangs would be less expensive, unless modded but factory should be cheaper.plus you have to put into account if you get a loan on the car or finance it you have to get full coverage not just liability.on an older car you can get insurance alot cheaper one because you can get the cheapest price from any company and if should suffice.i have a 74 datsun with a chevy 350 with 325 horses and its only like 85 a month where is the 01 gt cost hundreds more than that, guess it mainly depends on age as well, hope this helps.just went through that exact situation myself a couple months ago.
I can see how newer ones are much more because of the "newer" cpu's and such.
So its pretty safe to say if I got a 93 stang GT it would cost much less on insurance then a 99 GT even tho it has a bigger engine? (the 93 is a 302 5.0L engine)
