an increase in gas mileage would be offset by the increase in gas pedal "pushage" to hear those lovely exhaust pipes!!!

Couldn't be closer to the truth than that.

Yeah im with thoes guys, by adding new exhaust, ur only gonna decrease gas millage. Due 2 wanting to hear the new sweet sound or trying to race people.

exhaust does help if you maintain normal driving conditions with it beacause it can breath a lot better... but who the hell doesn't wanna let their newly installed bada$$ exhaust rip?

I'd say the best things to do for gas milage are new air filter, tuneup (complete) and the gentle foot upgrade as in not flooring it everywhere

I can watch my stang go from almost 20mpg cruisin around down to like 14 by mashin it

stay off the throttle (getting on it), expect braking distances, properly inflate tires, have a clean fuel filter, change your oil and filter timely, don't use the a/c - roll the windows down if possible in city driving, avoid stop-n-go traffic, avoid excessive idling, have a clean air filter, have good spark plugs, use quality fuel.

so in short.... take good care of your car and don't romp on it, and that should yield the best possible miles per gallon

ive got full intake minus the MAF, underdrive pullies and weld in 40 series, and i get crapppppy gas milage. i have no idea what could be wrong. i tried keeping off the throttle, and i normally shift around 2000-2500 rpm, when in the city i drive 45-50 mph at right about 2k rpm in 4th, but when i shift to 5th it goes to about 1100 and likes to bog down. so i dont go there very often, i dont consider any of these things romping on my stang b/c it never feels like shes being pushed hard at all. any other pointers?
