New DSS Racing motor on order

RE: New DSS Racing motor on order
I hope you have better luck with your DSS pro mod than I did. I blew 2 of them up with NA setup, both with less than 500 miles. Both motors had a terrible chattering sound when I would feather the throttle. The only common denominator in both motors were the pistons, which are now sitting in my garage. Found out DSS did not hone the block and the pistons were very sloppy, not a custom fit. I ended up having a motor built locally and ended up going with a Turbo and lowering the compression. Also, not an expert but IMO the most you will probably get out of an NA SOHC is 320rwhp, which will still have you looking at the rear tail lights of an 06 LS1. I think you are going to want to put some NOS to this thing to get you where you want to be.

RE: New DSS Racing motor on order
$6400 after shipping and I still had to ask for a free t-shirt. The dealership doesn't have a dyno, but my plan was for the Ford guys to get the thing going and then take it to a local speed shop, Delk Performance, for a dyno tune after break in miles. Any tips on what to watch for with these guys on the dyno? Any do's or don't I should tell them I want?
If I blow 2 DSS engines within 500 miles....have you ever seen a building burn down?
With all the bolt-ons, ported heads, cams, dyno tune, gears, I'll still lose to an '06 LS1? bah, this is getting expensive.
