Default Need help deciding!

I have an 04 gt and I am trying to decide if I should go ahead and supercharge it or take the money for the blower and build my motor so I wont be limited to 8-10 psi.
Also, how much hp can stock 2v motor handle with a good tune. thanks

stock block 450.
i would build the engine first then slap a blower on. crank up the psi to like 14(prob more then that but..) and have fun.

450 is a very generous #, I dont think u would last long on a stock bottom end making that type of power. I do agree with him though about doing the bottom end first. Get that done then you can turn the boost up and have some real fun and not have to worry about shooting a rod through your block.

My plans call for a ProCharger P1SC at 12psi with a three core intercooler on my stock motor. Im probably going to put a Snow Performance Boost Cooler on there to boot and see if I can get 14psi safely. I'd supercharge first, and if the motor goes, then fix it.
It goes back to the old saying why fix something that aint broke.

it's not fixing, it's preventing....and it all goes back to the old saying "better to be safe than sorry"

even with a snow kit and cooler, 12 PSI will probably break the bank right away. even if it doesn't, it's only a matter of time.

14 PSI and the engine will probably go boom on the first dyno pull.

The stock rotating assembly is simply not good for much more than about 440 RWHP (on a dynojet). that is the highest number I have seen where someone was able to keep it together for any lenght of time.

On the original posters question, I would go with the blower first. It beats spending tons of cash on a car that is still getting walked by every LS1 with an exhaust.

I went thru and did all of hte boltons before I did the blower, and now I wish I had done it the other way around. There is simply nothing like boost.
