What the HECK I dont get it!
Hey Everyone I am very new to this site. I had an encounter with a 2003 Hyundia Tiburon (2.7L V6) and I own a 1998 GT with Flows and ram air intake thats it. This kid has exhaust, intake and a 75 HP shot of nitrous. His car hung nose and nose with my mustang and I am really mad cause he is one of thoses people who run there mouths and talk so much crap. I am getting 3.73 gears installed in my car in a week or so and he wants to race me from 0-80. If we raced from a 40MPH drop and I hung with him do you guys think I could take him with the new gears from 0-80. Let me know and I am really new to this so be gentle.

If you can hook up off the line, your car should win... Do you have all of your sparkpug wires on? How are you getting beat by a Hyundai????

Gotta figure the 2.7 is rated at 170 HP. With a 75 shot thats 245 horsepower, so acutaly more than you are making. Thats not counting the exhaust work. I can defintaly see it keeping up with a 96-98 GT
If you hung door to door with him before, I would say you would beat him pretty good from a stop. Espcially with the 3.73s. The car (his) almost certianly doesn't launch very well, so all you have to do is your part.

makes perfect sense numbers wise, seeing how your nonpi. 0-80 youll get him, with or without the gears, with gears youll destroy him. not sure of the torque on the newer ones but my first gen had nothing

From a dig you will destroy him. Even w/ spray, I dont see him getting you. I took a BRAND new Tiburon GT and at about the 1/8th mile mark, let off and drifted until he pulled up and THEN took off again and still left him by about 3 cars. No prob at all. Make sure you can launch because if you spin too much, he will be runnin w/ you when he sprays.
