Default 2v - 4v...

Is there any way to change a 2v engine into a 4v engine, or is that the whole engine? What im asking is can you just add the extra valves or do you have to just get a whole new 4v engine,

Thanks,

It would be cheaper to buy a used 4v motor out of a wrecked car and drop it in.. a LOT cheaper.. and probably quicker. Quite a few little differences between the 4v and the 2v besides just the head and cams'.

Yea, NOT worth it. Get a 4V motor and drop it in. Will save you probably close to triple the expenses and a lot of time.

I agree. Yes u could convert a 2v to a 4v all u would need to do is bolt the 4v heads on to the GT shortblock. If u were to do that u would basiclaly have to replace everything above the shortblock.

One thing people forget about the 4v's.. My peak horse power is around 5900 rpm.. redline is 6800 rpms... fuel cutoff is 7k. I really dont start making power untill around 3500-4000 RPM's. There is a reason that they put a forged crank in the 4v's.... Then there is the fact that the secondary intake valves are triggered open at 3250 rpm's on something similar to a butterfly valve setup, not always open (you know what I mean) like the 2v's.. something that the 2v computer just doesnt quite know how to do... Like I said.. its more then just a head swap.

You cant even just drop a 4v motor in. You need the entire computer with it.
