Default would bad gas cause backfiring?

my cars backfiring a lot, got the supercharger at 8psi, and i dont think its hot enough for detonation but i may be wrong. the gas is a mixture of 93 and 87, and im gonna add some octane booster/injector cleaner to see if that helps. it sounds like shooting cap guns.

has your car been tuned? What kind of exhaust are you running?

yeah bad gas could cause that, it may have water in it and could just be bad quality. Just put in a few bottles of octane boost and/or cleaner and fill it with premium

yeah thats what im hoping. even if it werent blown it still wouldnt start with water in the gas, and using 87 octane with it tuned for 93 probably didnt help. if i can get the detonation or backfiring under control, then i can drive it up to a shop and have them help me get this one bastard plug out thats obstructed. it is such a difference driving though, even though it runs ****ty it still has so much *****, i mean it accelerates so much quicker. im so gonna wreck this car.

haha yeah, my car is mostly stock and still it hauls a$$ for my liking. I would definitley NOT romp on it with the 87 in there... i'd say put in a full tank of premium with some octane boost and cleaner, and take it for a cruise and see if it levels out

you got headers on it? Is that why the one plug is a biotch?

i got bbk shorties, the one plug is the second one from the back on the passenger side, it almost looks like its part of a gasket thats sticking out just enough so i cant get the socket all the way down. this was friday though, it may have readjusted when i got it running again, but i doubt it. good news is the blower belt is fine now, its a chevy gatorback belt and it kicks ***.

those gatorbacks are very nice. I run one on my car.

you know for that spark plug, have you ever seen those shorty spark plug sockets meant for cars with headers?

well if your car is tuned for 93, putting 87 in it is the worst thing you could ever do. your lucky your car is still running.
