Hey guys, my buddy's 21st b-day is coming very soon and some of my buddy's friends and I would like to get together, pool some money, and get him something to put some life into his GT.
It's a 1998 4.6L GT and already has a ram air hood and Catback exhaust.
We'd like to keep it around $300. I'm thinking along the lines of a K&N or possibly BBK cold air intake. Whatever will give the biggest boost in HP for the money I guess.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks

I disagree, JB. It depends on the catback.
My Catted H + SLP I's > Your flows + O/R H (loudness wise, keep your pants on)

But an o/r h with SLP 1s would be significantly louder than a catted h and SLP 1s. I guess I should have worded it better.

lol you guys are noobifying me with the abbreviations [:@]
SLP, what does it stand for?
And in general, it sounds like an o/r is cheaper and has slightly more power with the only drawback of being louder? I'm there.

well you can do what i do and get the o/r and keep the stock h pipe and then when emissions come trade them out. they arent very hard to change. takes about 15 mins once you get use to it. but with tthe flows catback i would get the bbk. it rips up the street with the flows. that is the setup i had on my 97 and everyone loved it. and the bbk o/r are only 189 free shipping. or you can get the bassani and start fight for like 250 or 300. but remember...you get what you pay for.

Oh SLP... company, right...
You're saying putting in an H pipe gives little gain at all? I've been reading descriptions that say 15-20HP. If they're right, that's enough to notice a difference when you put your foot down.
