I never herd of where to buy 3:90's. I got a 89 5.0? I'm quite convinced to get 3:73's

3.73 in a 5.0 = 4.10 in a 4.6

because
a.) ford doesnt make them
b.) anything less then 4.10s are a waste
Why are they a waste? You don't need to get FRPP gears. Motives are fine. As long as they are built to last and don't whine who really gives!

and to top it all off, if you do any traveling in your stang you wont want to do any gear changing! running at 2500rpm or more on the freeway for any period of time will drive any sane person crazy!
Changing to 4.10's is only good if you dont do much freeway traveling or driving over 55mph.
Just my .02cents!

Motives maybe cheaper, but require much more shimming then a FRPP gear set which equals more money to set up the Motives.

Anything less then 4.10s is a waste. People who run NA that have done 3.73s typically wish they got 4.10s, guys with 4.10s some wish to have 4.30s.

I tach 2500 at 80 with 4.10s........... 4.10s only raise your rpms by 3 or 400............ I still get 21mpg...............

not it doesnt cost more to have motive installed.... shims are like 2 dollars man.... i had my motives installed at the dealership and they never asked me what brand of gears they were.... if your gears whine its cuz they werent installed correctly hands down... FRPP and Motive both are great ive had both and will continue to use motive....

only time 4.10 will hurt your gas mileage is if your stomping on the pedal... if you shift at the same rpm as you did before you will get same if not better gas mileage as you did before....and on the interstate when im doing 80mph (took a 486 mile trip to houston)...i got 23 mpg the entire trip.... before gears maybe 24-25mpg
