Well see i'm leaning towards 3.90s because I DON'T to a lot of highway driving. I do A LOT of stop and go driving and driving in town.

not it doesnt cost more to have motive installed.... shims are like 2 dollars man.... i had my motives installed at the dealership and they never asked me what brand of gears they were.... if your gears whine its cuz they werent installed correctly hands down... FRPP and Motive both are great ive had both and will continue to use motive....

is it true that with 4.10's you basically lose 1st gear? Meaning when you do use 1st gear the car just reves up so fast its stupid?

Whine comes from incorrect gear meshing. It has nothing to do with the thickness of the gears.
Whine is bad..

if im not mistaken they make them that way for durability and strength... the whine comes from thicker gear teeth.... motive and frpp are same thing

i paid 380 for my install... the same amount the quoted me when i called and asked if they'd install 4.10's in my car if i had all the parts... meaning shims, bearings, and gears, gear oil, and friction modifier..... try it buddy call up a place ask them how much to install FRPP gears... then hang up ..... call back next day and ask to install motive gears..... if they tell you two differnt prices they are morons and you need to go somewhere else....

Motive Performance Plus gears are made with an extra strong race quality alloy. They also do NOT have a reputation such as Richmond for "gear whine". -Mustang Tuning
