Default 302/351 in 99' Stang?

Is it possible to swap an older EFI 5.0 into a 99' mustang? I love the modular 4.6, but i can't afford to modify it... it's just too damn expensive, and a little small for my liking.

i think i heard this from somewhere, dont know if its true or not so dont quote me, but i dont think you can swap an older engine into your car legally unless its brand new

This seems to be getting covered a lot lately. It is expensive swap and really not worth it. By the time you spend the money to do that you might as well just bought parts for your 4.6. 4.6 also might be down on cubes but it can make just as much power and is a lot more efficent. If you want a 5.0 then buy a 94-95 mustang.

take the money you have for the swap and go buy an 11 psi procharger from VMPtuning.com and run mid-13s or trade it in and buy a GT

One would hope you run better than mid 13s at 11 psi...

mid to low 13s average, im sure there is someone out there in the 12s though but thats average, however, the procharger is 4k, a GT brand new is 5k more, so you save 1k and gain half a second to a full second, then the GT owner slaps on a vortech and kills you[&o]

wait wut are we talking about here.. I think hes talking about a 99 gt, not v6... so with a procharger he should be well into the 12's....

the main thing is for 5000 dollars, you can but a Ford Racing 351 or 302 with 450 horsepower at the crank, you obously still need a transmissions which will prpbally run about 2 to 3k but for the perfomace i think its worth it. There is only so much power you can build from the 4.6 with 281 cubes. I personally and trying to save money to purchase a brand new 351 with 500 horses.
