Traction control is worhtless anyway :-p It leans out your motor and at high revs that dangerous :-p Regardless, Mine is turned off 24/7

yeah i do need to check the insurance out.. luckily we girls often get a slightly better deal
I'm not sure how much i want to spend, I'm going to have to get a loan no matter which rout I go.
What would a good price for a 99' gt manual be? I found one for $6700 which looked pretty good and an average amount of miles but it was an automatic and i just don't think i could stand to have an automatic

does traction control not really help then? hmm.. how would i know if it has it or not?

thanks for the help

If you might be driving in snow or sleet, don't even THINK of not getting the TC. In areas that don't see that kind of weather, or if the Stang will be a sunny day only car, it's not important. The TC in these cars is a simple system that just reduces fuel and plays with the timing to make the engine lose power to stop wheel spin and that's all. It's not like the full blown systems on some cars that are tied into the ABS and stability control.

Actually as far as I know, the traction control on the 99= is actually a pretty decent system, I live in New england so it has helped more than once, and it actually does tie into your brakes too, if wheel spin is detected it first retards the tining and cut's fuel flow, then as a last resort if will apply brake pressure to the wheel. I believe it is a bosch system, not positive on that though, it can be a pain in the *** or a savior,,,, to tell if a car has it, just look for the T/C button in front of the shifter,,,,,,,,, I highly reccomend a 99 plus, more power from the start, even before modding, good luck with whatever you get,
