Dude I know what you mean. I'm not sure about Mustangs, but I have heard that gears will have more affect on an auto than on a manual. I do know that on Chevrolet's F-body's, they used a 3.23 on auto's and a 3.42 on manual's. I would assume the reason is to have both cars close to the same speed. I don't think they would make one faster than the other unless it was a SS or WS6 or something.

a auto with 4.10s should take a manual with 3.73s, especially if you used the tuner to recalibrate for the gears, but why would you want 3.73s[&:]

true question you should ask can a 4.10 geard auto take a 4.10 geard manual with the same mods and tires.... i think not... i even think the manual would win with 3.90's
