Biggest aftermarket throttle body that will fit on my 99 cobra? HP gains?
[b]I currently own a 99 Cobra. My mods currently are an aftermarket h-pipe, steeda underdrive pullies, aluminum driveshaft, short shifter, 3.73 gears, mac cold air intake, and flowmasters. I need to get it dyno'ed but i'm guessing it has bout 300 to the rear. My car runs pretty quick but does anyone have any ideas on how i can get my car moveing any faster? I know a supercharger would be the best way but i just don't have the money for that. My thoughts were maybe a new throttle body and chip. Does anyone know what size throttle body will fit on my 4v cobra, or any ideas on how i can make this beast run quicker? Any ideas would be great. Thanks

Finish your exhaust with some shorties. I hear there the most popular for the newer cobras. Also to get full potential out of the cold air kit get a bigger Mass Air Flow Sensor.

...Look into a MAF tuner, instead of a new chip. This will give you the most in tune-ability for you car, even as mods get added. Avalible through Pro-M, I swear by this product. You can maximize your hp more efficiently this way.

i wouldnt waste my time on a chip or eec tuner...the gains will be minuscule on an NA car...also, a bigger tb wont help unless you were FI. just get a zex N20 kit. best power for the money

Thanks for all the replies. Cobra232 could you send me a link to that Accufab Eliptical throttle body. I did a search for it and could not find it. The one i was looking at was a 65mm BBK throttle body for $319. I've seen several mustangs with bigger throttle bodys so i was just wondering how big i could go. Also, how would i go about getting a bigger mass air flow sensor? What exactly does a mass air flow sensor do, and how will that give me gains? My goal is to get to 350 rwhp without nitrous or a supercharger but i don't know if that's possible. I'm also thinking about maybe getting a storker kit. Does anyone know how the stroker kits work? Do you just buy the kit and then drive to ford and have them install it? Or does the company your buying the kit from install it. I would like to stroke to a 3.75 which i think is a 5.0. Anyone with info on stroker kits would help a great deal. Thanks for the replies guys.

Hey 99 cobra. Actually, when i was getting my h-pipe put on my car they guy said i would get some gains from putting an aluminum driveshaft on it. When he tried to install it was too long. So he sent it away to get it shorten the driveshaft. The custum job cost me about 60 extra bucks.

So you orginally just bought a normal one and had it custom fit. Thats actually a good idea. I am going to check into that.
