Yeah im saving for a 99-up GT,and im just making plans on what im going to do to it(i like to have everything planed out lol) just wandering what the best kind of block to use to a s/c GT that will have about 350-420 rwhp? And yes im getting all forged internals for this(by the way whats the best brand internals i can use for this kinf of combo?) But i was just wandering what kind of block to use that wont split into for crack cause im really new to 4.6's im so use to 5.0 pushrods haha anyway if anybody can answer my question please do.

RE: Block
Oh really? sorry if it seems like a retarded question but i really dont know hardly anything about 4.6's cause i own a 87' GT,but im learning alot more about them,so if i get all forged internals, all the good bolt-ons and a KB s/c i want have any problems running 420 rwhp right?

RE: Block
exactly. Everyone says that the stock 4.6 block can handle around 400-450 rwhp (correct me if i'm wrong) but that is with everything done right and followed to a tee. Forging the internals only makes it a very very reliable 420 horse. You won't worry every time you jam the gas either

RE: Block
ergh, well worry less. Forging internals only covers your a$$. I don't know enough about forced induction to give any real advice, but I know enough about engines that if you are going supercharged that the stronger the engine, the better the blower will work.

RE: Block
Yep. If you get forged internals, you can change your compression to optimize the power you want, but really, that's kind of putting 2 grand in for almost nothing. If you get the forged internals, go with a 2.2L kenne bell (if twin screw is what you want) and put down 5-700.

RE: Block
If you're going with a forged motor, you may as well throw in a tubular K member w/ 5.0 mounts (yes, they make them) and drop in a 408/other 351w stroker variant and make gobs more power for cheaper.
