I dunno what the limit on 4.6L's are but I think most 4 cylinder engines come with forged rods and pistons? I was at the dragstrip last night and some guy with a blown/nitrous 13 second honda civic seemed surprised when I told him that mustangs had cast pistons/rods. I also saw a 1.8L mazda protege running 26lbs of boost lol...that thing was running 12's.

I always noticed those two cars looked similar, but when did Mopar and Mitsubishi use the same chassis for cars? I knew that Ford worked with Mazda (such as the Mazda B-series/Ford Ranger, and the Probe/MX-6) but I never knew that Mitsubishi collaborated with Mopar...hmm

Mitsubishi Eclipse = Eagle Talon = Both DSM's
VR4 = Stealth = Both DSM's
Your friend is a jackass... The VR4 cars can be VERY fast, but the N/A ones are dogs... Too heavy and no where near enough power...

Actually, it depends on how many, and what kind of stickers he has on his car. If he has more than, say, 20 stickers (especially the covetted APC ones), it will most definitely smoke you! If his car also has "speed yellow" hand brushed on half of the interior trim, than I would bet it is closer to 3 seconds flat anyway.

I'll be honest with you.. if he has the N/A FWD car.... those things weigh TONS... so if you want to sandbag against him... your gonna have to REALLY try.. Seriously, they are like 17/18 second beasts... its gonna be harder for you to sandbag it to keep up with him then it will be for you to just smoke him.
I took a buddies 3000GT SL in my v6 when it was stock.. and it wasnt even close.

Yeah... My wife and here crazy previous life... That guy is so f'n loaded... I mean that is just his stealth... he's also got a viper, and 5 other cars... It is however, an amazing piece of machinery, regardless of who made the damn thing.

A 1993 3000gt VR-4 produced 300hp not 220. But has AWD
It's 0-60 time was 5.4 seconds and 1/4 mile 14sec. @120
The 2006 corvette 0-60 is 5.23sec.
The 2006 ZO6 0-60 is 4.5 sec.
The 3000GT weighes 3960lbs.
The Corvette only weighs 3150lbs. That's 800lbs in difference.
The 3000GT can only get 4.1sec if it has aftermarket Turbos
I think stock boost was like 3-4psi. Not too sure though
I had a VR_4 Aftermarket Turbo(bought it like that, took it to the
track and got 0-60 in 4.0 sec. with 460hp rebuilt motor w/everything on it
NO WAY HE HAS A 4.1SEC. 0-60 time

I always thought that the VR-4's (340hp from the factory) came w/ Active Aerodynamics and were ONLY AWD...
Conversely, the FWD's were the SL's, w/ a whack v-6....
Oh yeah, a guy in the New England DSM club, has a best of 585WHP on a 100% STOCK bottom end.. I know most of you are going to flame, so give me a minute to come up w/ the link to the page w/ his dyno #'s, and his personal info...
