3000gt 0-60 in 4.1sec???

3000gt 0-60 in 4.1sec???
My friend just got a 1993 Mitisubishi 3000gt non VR4. He says he looked up on the internet that his car will do 0-60 on 4.1sec. Now if im not mistaken, the new 2006 ZO6 does 0-60 in 3.9sec. And there is no way in hell it can keep up with a vette. So i looked it up and couldnt find the non VR4 0-60, but i found that a VR4 does it in like 5.4sec. He still doesnt believe me. Was there a special 3000gt made that im not aware of? Plus he told me he ordered a CAI, not sure of the brand, and its supposed to give him 35-40hp????? This may be true, but most CAI i have found give you from 10-15. And one last question is, could his 220hp, front wheel drive keep up with my car? its a manual and is stock with 130,000miles on it.

dont really know the exact time for their 0-60, but what i can tell you is not to be worried.
race your buddy, you will smoke the hel* out of him. vr4, different story, infact i wouldnt
know the result of that race. but my bullitt seriously raped the 1992 3000gt with an
experienced driver.(my best friend)

I don't know what your buddy is thinking but you'll NEVER see 35-40hp out of a CAI. No where close to that and that car doesn't do 0-60 in anywhere near 4.1 either. Seems that he's either VERY misinformed about his car, or trying to impress with information that's just plain false...

ok the VR4 does 0-60 in 5.5 the fwd one is like 100hp less and missing the drive from the rear wheels. this guy doesnt know his stuff or is bs'ing you. and those cars are heavy. you will kill him

Ya i planned on racing him today, but he said he just stopped by to show me his car and he had to go home. O well. but i will definatley be racing him very soon and i am gonna get someone to video tape it. i will tell yall when i do so you can tell me how to post it up.
Bullittproof, did you race ur friend with the mods in ur sig or when you were stock. because the outcome would be a LITTLE different? Especially with ur gears. what mph did you race him?

Ha i try to " edumicate" him but it doesnt seem to work, i guess the only way would be to beat him. This is his first car so i gotta give him some slack, but not too much.
I was thinkin about either racing him and losing on purpose, then asking him to race for money. Like sayin, " wow ur car is real fast, but i messed up and i think i can beat you, u wanna race for o lets say... $100?
Or i will just ask him to race for money the first time.

reminds me of how my friend with his stealth thinks he can run a 13.6 1/4 mile. i guess thats what he claims he got at the track with his stock stealth. stealths are the same as the 3kgt just uglier. its total crap anyway, they are nice cars and all but not 4.1 second 0-60.
