Default tint issues

im sure every mustang owner on here has had this problem before, and im sure no one understands why and the hell ford would put those stupid little dots at the top of the rear window. the tint over it looks like complete hell. i was at a tint and alarm place with a friend of mine who wanted tint for his camero, and i asked them about tinting the mustang's windows and what they could do about getting it to stick to those dots at the top of the back window. they told me they tint up to the dots on mustangs all the time, and that it looks tons beter than that half way "unstuck" look when you tint over them. i havent ever seen a mustang with tint up to the dots, and i was wondering if anybody on here had it done and if it really looked good or if you've had any problems with it peeling back. thanks.

Either a shop should put a vinyl strip across the top, or they sand down the black dots a little bit to get the tint to stick good to them.

thanks alot jchittick i appreciate the hell out of that. every place ive been to just told me i was going to have to live with the fact that the tint wasnt going to stick to those dots. after that i started paying attention to the mustangs around town, and every one i see with tint looks great right up to those dots, and then it just looks like hell. i just cant bring myself to drop $200 on something im not going to be happy with. but ill definately ask about then sanding the dots down or if it looks all right just tinted up to it, maybe ill just do that. definatly not going to be satisfied with the regular tint over the dots though.

holly shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii* sprostang how the hell did you get it to look that clean?! thats the best looking tint ive ever seen on a mustang. and that doesnt look bad at all tinted up to the dots jchittick. thats alot better than i was expecting, and a LOT better than being all unstuck looking.

I dont know, but the tint shop i`ve always used in the past uses the best quality tint that can be found. (So they say) Dont know exactly what they did but it looks awesome. Also guaranteed for life.

I have 5% on the back. They need to put a strip of black vinyl (like a graphic) where the dots are. Then come back with the tint. This is the way it is on my car and it looks good. BTW dont use your rear window defroster, it causes the tint to wrinkle up.

Huh?

You can use your rear defroster all you want. It simply doesn't get hot enough to wrinkle the tint.
