Default help a kid out

well i am the proud owner of a 2001 bullitt and have been since right around thanksgiving of last year. this is my first car to actually be able to make a hobby out of. i dont understand though, what the difference between a plenum and a throttle body is? i hadnt even heard of a plenum until i was looking to replace my throttle body. what is the plenums purpose and what will replacing one without the other, (if that is even possible?) do for me? feel kind of stupid asking a question as simple as that, but i guess i gota learn sometime eh? thanks for all the help.

Plenum is basically part of the Intake Manifold, the part right after the TB.

so what would replacing one without the other do? i know some of them are plenum + throttle body and theyre like double the price of just the throttle body. if i do one should i just buy the thing together and replace them at the same time?

Sure replacing one might net you a few extra horses, but there will still be restriction. Do the mods in harmony

You don't need a plenum!! You have a Bullit Intake on your Bullit correct? The Bullit intake uses a twin bore Throttle Body, you do not want to look at the single bore throttle bodies for the GT's. One of the cool features of your car is the aluminum intake. All you need is the twin bore throttle body, let me see if I can find a picture of what you need online.

Twin bore Throttle Body, (this is the kind used for your intake)

I believe that Accufab, BBK and a couple others make them for the Bullit, I know Accufabe does for sure.
