Default CA headers...

i saw a short X pipe(kind that works with long tubes) that was catted. just out of curiosity, would longtubes with the catted X and whatever cat back pass CA smog? im not really talking about the visual(just got mine smogged today and they didnt even look underneath but it was stock) im talkin about the sniffer test...

As long as its catted then it should. The reason Longtubes are such a PITA with emissions compliances is they require the cats be relocated further back which is 'illegal', but the emissions levels stay mostly the same..

That's a tough quetion, especially since headers are easily visible from the engine bay when they pop your hood for the test. I know JBA makes some 50 state legal shorty headers...but who wants shorty headers? I personally decided to stay away from headers because I didnt want to risk it.

I see....i guess if i ever did get enough money i could just go to one of those "special shops" and fork over a few extra bucks to pass...

so do you think it would pass the sniffer??
