Default Cutting Springs

My buddy has a 1996 cobra coupe and he just cut the stock springs on it... surprizingly the ride wasn't too horribly bad. I told him this was probobly not a good decision though and could most likely hurt his car. He likes it though. He is going to invest in a set of c&c plates of the front. What kind of damage can this setup do.

no no no no no no.

Springs are CHEAP. Why would you go thru all of this headache just to screw up the spring rates and make the car handle like ****.

Cutting springs will result in a bad ride, bad handling, possible loss of control, shaking around corners, and your mother slapping you over the head asking why you are so stupid

Well, ok maybe its not that bad, but he should just get some new springs. Its cheap and will work soo much better.

my ford racing c-springs actually said if it doesnt drop it enough to go ahead and cut the springs on top. I dont think have the ppl in here even compete to really notice a difference with handling.

Cutting dropped springs a little on the top is differen't than doing the entire drop by cutting your stockers.

Have you ever seen a car go around a corner on the street and just bounce up and down really hard?? Thats cause they cut their stock springs.

The cut springs do not have the same "rate" as a set of aftermarket springs, so they allow the car to move alot more faster than properly setup springs.

That is crazy, so what would be the effect if I do this on my GT convert... I think I'll actually get the Csprings and then cut em to give me the look i want. Can I cut the stockers until I get these in early June.

May seem okay right now, but it's putting alot of pressure on the shocks, and will
cause them to deteriorate quickly

I heard that you can cut Cobra springs, but cannot cut GT or V6 springs because of the way that they are made? Does anyone a little more knowledgeable care to comment.
