??? about rings seating
i have a 96 gt that i just had the bottom end re-done. its been 500 miles and the plugs still have oil on them. did they do something wrong or have they just not seated yet??? i believe this is causing my car to smoke under hard acceleration.

Hmm I may be wrong but that doesn't sound right to me. I would call the engine builder. Let us know what they say. Did you change the plugs yet? I would change them and drive it a day and take a look.

Sounds like the car is running rich and hasn't seated the rings yet.
Hope you didn't use synthetic yet!
I would also put in a hotter plug for now to burn the oil off.
They probably put in cold plugs to keep the mixture rich. It helps the first few miles.
And change the oil at 1,000 miles and check the plugs again.
Rings usually take 1,000 1,500 to begin seating properly

RE: ??? about rings seating
so i went to delk today and had my car re-tuned. i had like 8.5 to 1 comp and planned on on a turbo. but i spun a bearing and decided to do high-comp 11.25 to 1. so i went to get it re-tuned and they said it was PERFECT. that just doesnt make sense to me. how could the tune be the same for both compressions??? when my car smokes when i get on it i kinda get the impression its running rich. what should i do????
