I'm still confused... cuz if your mid range TQ is higher on an H pipe than your HP is also higher, and if your top end HP is higher on an X, than you TQ is also higher. Correct?
Leave the mathematics out of it. Cars are too damn crazy to predict like that.

I did the math... at 3500 RPM a 50lb increase in TQ translates to 33HP, at 5500 RPM a 50lb increase in TQ translates to 53HP... not that that means anything, but I just wanted to see. at 3500 RPM a 50HP increase translates to 75lb increase in TQ, at 5500 RPM a 50HP increase translates to 47lb increase in TQ. Like I said... I was just curious.

damach04... what's a mid length header? I know shorties mount like stock and long tube come down by the trans, but how are the mids?? Is there a special midpipe for medium length headers?

I'm just confused. I will probably be getting shorties when I go to get headers...but who knows

Bassani mid-lengths offer the best of both worlds, almost as much HP as LT's but without the clearance issues. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but, Bassani is really expensive I think they are the only ones that sell Mid-lengths.

there are definately other mid-lengths available. I've never really seen dyno comparisons between mid-lengths and long tubes.
