Default Straight Shot or Fenderwell?

I am trying to decide on an intake but am not sure on the difference between the straight shot and the fenderwall mount. I have always thought that sucking in air from under the hood would rob some power because of the heat. But at the same time it looks as if you could get more direct air into th engine with the straight. Anyone have any knowledge on this?

I have the JLT and love it! I had the MAC and didn't like it 1 bit. It's a matter of tast but for 175 for the JLT you can't go wrong.

Just my 2C

But why did you like it better? Did you notice any gains/decreases in power/sound?

i went with the jlt ram air and i dont regret it they look good sound good i mean performance wise your only going to see 5-7 hp as for a diffrence between a sraight shot and fenderwall people say the fenderwall gets more colder air from the filter not actually being in the engine bay but you would probably see about 1-2 hp diffrence if any between the 2

With the cover over it, it is drawing cold air and it does not have to suck through all the tubing. Yes I felt a bit over the MAC POS.

2VNA....time to clean your engine! Kinda funky looking. Use Simple Green full strength on a "warm" engine, wait 1 minute and spray off with a high intensity setting on your hose nossle (NOT pressure wash!). In your case you'll have to cover the exposed K&N filter to protect it from water splashing. I have the BBK in the fender well and don't have to worry about it when I spray my engine off. Simple Green works great and will not harm your driveway, pavement or lawn in anyway. Dries to a nice shine on polished parts. Hmmm....smells spring fresh too (she'll like that!). Typical engine degreasers use very harsh chemicals and can harm certain parts on your engine, particularly aftermarket parts, not to mention desolve asphalt! Stick with Simple Green, it does work well.
