Called a local shop today that i've delt with in the past that does good work to see how much it would cost for them to put in gears. They said $550.00 Even if I provided the gears and pinion and the master bearing kit. Wtf? That's A LOT of money for gears isn't it? Btw, does the master bearing kit come with shims?

I provided the gear set and my mechanic had the shim kit and he charged me like 399

I got mine done for $150 from a friend that works at a ford dealership.

I was quoted around $300 from a local mechanic shop. I supplied the gears and install kit.

i paid 500 for everything. they supplied the gears and everything. spent another 100 on a speedcal though.

The shop I go to charges about 500 for everything including FRPP gears and the master bearing kit.

Everyone thinks it is a cheap mod until they find out what the cost is to get them put in.

I'm gettin 4.10s put in for $800.. That includes the gear and everything needed.. I also have IRS.. I think its alot but the guy knows his stuff and I trust him.. I have no problem paying more $ for a good installer.. You get what you pay for I alawys say..

I bout my Motive 4.10's for $160 and paid $165 for installation. It was $150 for labor and $15 for the Royal purple gear lube. My car only had 45K miles so I didn't need a bearing kit. It was installed 2 days ago and has absolutely NO gear whine.
