Default gears again

Hey guys. Im not gonna ask the question again. I can tell you this !. I have a GT and love to take a long cruzes ! If 4:10's are bad for that then I would love some feed back. Smokin a ricer helps me sleep at night. As long as I can do that at any RPM im cool. What do you guys think ???? I could care less about MPG.... Just wanna smoke my tires and make every forien car look bad.

Dude, seriously.

Come on man, this gear thing has been beaten death several times.

Like I said in the other thread to you, can't you already do that? You said at 75mph+. You should be able to pull ricers at that high of a speed with the car stock...even more so when you already have mods. If your looking to try and reel in SRT4's or something it would depend on your driving.

Gears...go for 4.10's. There.

Done. Finished. The end. Finito. Fin. That's all folks.

Move along, move along...nothing more to see here.

Ok, not to beat a dead horse, but 4.10s may be good for a 5speed but what about an auto? I've always heard that for an auto you take the next step lower, in other words if you have a 5 speed get 4.10s and if you have an auto get 3.73s or 3.90s. What do you guys think?

Ummm wrong, for an auto you could go with the next smaller gear (smaller in size = bigger in number). So 4.10s for a 5speed, 4.30s for an auto is what it means.

Damn I can't wait to get my 4.10s. lol

If you have an auto, wouldn't you want a lower number because you don't have the benefit of a fifth gear? A manual in 5th cruises at lower rpms than an auto in fourth. Therefore, gears in an automatic and the car won't be worth a shi* on the freeway but might be okay with a manual. So you'd want the lower number for the automatic correct?

No. Did you forget automatics now have overdrive? An automatic wants an ever shorter gear if anything. All that power you are sacrificing needs to get made up for somehow. Auto's absolutely should be 4.10's or shorter.
