Default Service Engine Soon P1451

On the way home tonight, the Service Engine Soon light came on. So I pluged the code scanner in and it says P1451 Aux. Emission Controls.

Any ideas? O2 Sensor?

I did a little research on the internet, found that P1451 means barometric pressure sensor performance.

WTF is a barometric pressure sensor? Where is it, and how do you replace it?

It's a '99. I ran it past the parts guy at the dealer because I wasn't sure what that sensor is. He said that car doesn't use one, it's part of the MAF. He said that was probably bad.

I work at FORD and have never heard of a p1451 on a pony. So i did alittle research. P1451 has to do with the CV on the Emmisions. Control valve for the Charcoal canister. I look into it and write back tomorrow

LOL> Remove the connecter for the CV on the canister, and check it because i guess they have problems with water getting into it and causing problems

P1451 - EVAP Control System Canister Vent Solenoid Circuit Malfunction. Thats what FORD says the code is for. Like i said before i have never seen this, but one of the main problems is corrosion getting into the connecter and causing problems. You could also clear the code and then see what happens

OKay, now where is that? I looked under the hood, there is a black canister up against the firewall on the passenger side with a black steel tube going to it, and 2 other tubes coming out. There is also a connector on the top of it. Is this what you're talking about?

I'm still having this problem if anyone else has any ideas. Casper...Thanks for your help. I cleaned the connector you were talking about, and it didn't seem to do anything. I've cleared the code 10 times, but now it just comes right back on.

I'm going to have this MF'er cubed if I don't come up with any solutions!!
