What's the best way to get up to 400hp while still maintaining reliablity?

with a GT, def go supercharger. IT will not affect reliability as ling as you don't run boost to high and don;t put the pedal to the floor every time you accelerate.

I would go with a S/C and also change your cam and spring set-up. Don't go to heavy, you don't want to bend a valve.
Stage 2 or 3 with a s/c w/8psi boost. Anymore boost you'll run your gas down the tubes as well as your motor.
