It's just whether you wanna go Frankenstang or do it right. Are you putting on a catback anytime soon? If so, you're better off doing the midpipe now instead of hack-n-slash but it sounds like you're set on it.

If that's what you want to do, do it. You probably won't find many on here to help you justify it though, which is what it seems like you're looking for...
