Default Traction lock diff. problems??

I will be installing my 4.10's sometime soon and my mechanic told me there was a problem with the diff. going out. My car has 55K miles on it. i was wondering if this is a common problem or has happened to many people. If so, i figured i would rebuild it as long as I was installing gears. Thanks

mustangs are not popular for differential failure, they are just as prone to it as any other car manufacturer...now plastic intake, yes =p

its not common, but there have been a few people here including myself that have had a bearing go out. It wouldn't hurt to have them put a complete bearing kit in at the time of the gear install. its only about another 100 bucks

A bearing kit should be a must when installing gears.... It is very cheap insurance compared to the rear end going out.
