you dont really have many other feasable options other than the 4.6 or the 5.4

not to hijack, but I have similar plans. I was planning on an 03/04 cobra motor and then building it to suit that. Now no one tell me it's expensive I know that. But it will be cheaper than a cobra itself and also show up on insurance as a GT still... just my $0.02

what would be needed to drop in that engine, new tranny, rear end and wiring/computer? (and of course exhaust)

id look at the frpp 302 or the 347 strokers they make over 400+ hp and are cheaper then trying to get the most power from ur 4.6

u want more power up the displacment.

screw the diplacement...port the heads and slap on a nice turbo setup... problem solved....400rwhp daily and by night ur a 600rwhp beast

I fit 351w in my 98. you can fit almost any ford motor you want by swapping the k member . i changed mine to a 94 k member in 2 hours ( the 281 was already out) if you want to know more about it there is a sticky on the 351 stangs page , marked 5.8 conversion

400 horse isnt too much, i test drove a cobra with over 600... I would have drove it everywhere!!!
