My hood is fiberglass like d3mons...I have an 03, and my friend has an 01 that he sold his hood on ebay, and it got damaged in shipping, and it was almost ripped completely in half and all you could see was the fibers sticking out....

im no expert, but i have a feeling our hoods are not steel.. they might have some steel trim pieces on the underside (im not sure) but if you hit your knuckles on the fender, and then the hood, you SHOULD be able to tell a difference
(and judging from the pictures of rbstang's hood, its not steel either)

lol well the part i cut out was fiber... i mean when u take off the hood scoop. u will see a templet basically to cut along with, i didnt take pics of that well bc i forgot =/, as for the headers there lt's, sorry for the delay onpost been busy .. yea and dam those birds!!

I just put that scoop on my 2000. They are fiber where you put the hood scoop on. No metal shavings come out when you drill just fiberglass ****. O and if you are like me you looked everywhere for a template and there wasn't one. There are cutouts in the underside railing that you drill into. Don't forget to look or you will have random holes in your hood when you reallize the mistake or it will look like ****.

Its a functional hood scoop, but not a functional ram air. it still helps the engine cool down a little. Im also curious as to how you did this. the GT hood is just the solid steel V6 hood with some pre drilled holes so that the plastic hood scoop's pegs can rest in them. How did you cut through the steel under the hoodscoop?

Dude, carbon fiber is CARBON, with a resin coating. While paper may have carbon in it, they are vastly different. Pretty much all life as we know it, is carbon based. So it only makes sense that paper has carbon in it. Since it did come from a tree, which at one point was living. Hate to be rude but, you did know that right?
