Default 1998 Cobra Questions...

Hey guys, I am new to mustangs but am looking to get one.

I have very mixed information about the 1998 Cobra from google, some places say its 0-60 is 5.9 and some places say its 5.4, can anyone let me know which one to believe?
Also, I am looking to get either the 1997-98 Cobra, or a 2001-2003 Mustang GT, if the Cobra is 5.9 wouldn't that make the 03 GT and the 98 Cobra about the same speed?
Basically I want to know which one is overall faster, the 98 Cobra, or the 01-03 GT?

Thanks guys!

You will get flamed for asking this.

Rule of thumb, those Cobra's are a little faster.

4v V8 over the 2v V8.

Whether its 5.9 or 5.4 its not that big of a difference, and keep in mind those Cobra's are all stick,
so it's all on how u drive it.

I figured I would get flamed, but I have no other way to find out! Hoping I could find some kind gentelman like yourself to help me out.
Well whichever one I got, I would def get it in stick, well half a second can make a decent difference in speeds but im not just worried about 0-60 im also wondering about just raw power, from 30-40-60mph rolls, etc. I'm not talking about for racing, just to know which one is faster.

stock for stock the Cobra is faster, and from a roll it will pull harder then the GT. Go Cobra.

98 cobra vs 02ish GT? Cobra definately.

If you can swing it, try to pick up an 99/01 cobra, or a 03/04 Mach 1. I don't know you're budget, but those are some SICK a** cars!

If I could have found a super low mile 98 cobra, I would have bought that over my 04 GT all day long. The 4V motors respond so much better to intake and exhaust mods than the 2v. Otherwise, I love the 01 cobras too, but they are still selling for $18-20K.

yea if you can get a Mach get it, but i thought that the 99-01 Cobras had some problems and wernt much if at all faster then the 96-98 Cobras. But if you like the 99-01 body style more go for that.
