Default what kind of exhaust?

what kind of exhaust (or just muffler) should i get for my 2001 GT? i want it to be loud and deep sounding but not so loud that it pisses poeple off when i drive past them. im mostly looking for somthing that will give me the most power gain. i was talking to a guy with an 05 GT and he had some kind of performance muffler and he said he dyno'd it and it gave it a 24 hp boost from stock and said it should be about the same for mine. is it even possible to get that much power out of a muffler? i am also looking for somthing that isnt to pircy either. thanks.

ur gonna see the most performace gains from LT's, o/r midpipe, and an aftermarket cat back. but this package is expensive 1200+. Id look at just an aftermarket cat back Borla, SLP, Magnaflow.

no muffler will give you 24hp gain that i know of. My Magnaflows boast about a 10% increase in power, thats 21hp and of course realisticly iam getting maybe 5-6 hp gains.

anyone else wanna comment on MUFFER hp gains? not cat-back

buy bbk x pipe (not catalytic converter will be louder, and more power), and replace the mufflers. If you have the money, replace the headers.

Here's mine...Flowmaster American Thunder Catback w/ Magnaflow Catted X-Pipe. Its pretty loud though when you hear it in person so it may not be what you're looking for. If you want something that sounds good but isn't loud maybe go with a Magnaflow catback?
